SUMMARY:GSSF League
DESCRIPTION:Indy Arms Company is proud to host Glock Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF) Indoor League Matches!\n\n \nGSSF indoor leagues are designed to be accessible to the newest shooter (the free Glock given away each league is randomly awarded among all those that compete)\, but also challenging for experienced shooters (winning plaques to be awarded after all three dates are complete). \nNever shot competitively before? New to Shooting? You can track your progress from month to month and test and grow your basic skills (guns are shot at low ready\, no drawing from holsters). Experienced with handguns? An ‘old hand’ at competing? The further ranges in the course of fire will challenge you to further hone your skills. \nEach league is a series of three matches conducted over a 3-month period (one match (on the second Sunday 3-6pm) a month).  Participants can shoot only on the date of match and must compete in two of the three matches of each league to qualify for placement\, plaques and prizes. \nRecent GSSF Match Results\nCompetitors may shoot ANY GLOCK pistol in the Indoor League.  There are three broad divisions; Stock (any Glock (with a 10 round or greater capacity) other than the G42 or G43 that has had no or very minimal modifications)\, Unlimited (any Glock (with a 10 round capacity) other than the G42 or G43 that has been modified)\, and Pocket (G42 or G43 with no or very minimal modifications). \n      See below link for full list of acceptable modification on stock weapons as well as modifications that result in unlimited designation. \n          GSSF Full Rules – Click Here \nCost is $20 for the first Glock (any division)\, $15 for each additional Stock or Unlimited Glock entered and $10 for each Pocket Glock (G42 or G43) entered* \n          * Price does not include any equipment or gun rental and/or ammo purchase (competitors can bring their own ammo\, eyes\, ears\, and Glocks) \nThe Lewis Prize Allocation System is used to distribute placement plaques as equitably as possible. One designated Glock per division used during 2 or more match will be considered for placement in the final results. Your two best scores of each division (one designated gun per division) during the series (of three) matches will be totaled and averaged at the end of the 3-match series. \nParticipants may shoot more than one Glock in each division.  However\, for each division ONLY your designated Glock will be placed in the rankings.  Additional Glocks shot in the same division may still be considered for the 500 or 250(Pocket GLOCK) Club awards and for additional entries into the free Glock drawing at the end of a three month (3 match) league (or to just track your monthly progress). \nPlaques are awarded to the top scoring shooter in each of the following categories at the end of each three match/month league; Class A Stock (top 33% of scores) Class B Stock (middle 33% of scores). Class C Stock (bottom 33% of scores). Junior (<18) in Stock\, Woman in Stock\, Senior (55+) in Stock\, Unlimited\, and Pocket. \nA Free Glock is given away in a lottery consisting of all shooters who shoot two of the three matches (dates) for each league. \nScoring: Course of Fire A and Pocket \nAllocate points for each shot as follows: \n\n10 points = X Ring\n10 points = 10” Ring\n8 points = 8” Ring\n5 points = any other bullet mark on the target\n\nIf a shot cuts the line\, the higher point value is given. \n\nThere is a maximum of 500 points.\nWhen scoring Course of Fire Pocket GLOCK there is a maximum of 250 points\n\nWinners will be posted on the GSSF website at www.gssfonline.com under the Indoor League tab and in The Glock Report \n  \n2019 Regular Dates:\nMark you Calendars! SUMMARY:Basic Defensive Shotgun
DESCRIPTION:Basic Defensive Shotgun\nBasic Defensive Shotgun is an informational and hands-on class in the use of the modern pump or semi-automatic shotgun as a home defense weapon. A shotgun is an extremely effective\, diverse\, and psychologically intimidating self-defense weapon. But there are many misconceptions about it\, and it is sometimes as intimidating to its users as it might be to an attacker. Shotgun operating systems tend to behave differently than most other firearms\, and need to be understood and practiced. And shotguns can fire an enormously broad range of ammunition types\, not all of which are suitable in some situations. \nShotgun handling safety\, range safety\, and safe storage are addressed. We will go through the basic operating systems (pump and semi-automatic) commonly used in self-defense shotguns. We will practice basic handling\, operation\, loading and unloading with dummy ammunition in the classroom\, and proper mounting of the shotgun. The course concludes with live-fire session on the range\, shot at various distances and speeds\, and with different types of shotgun ammunition. \nThis course will consist of about 2 ½ hours of classroom material and practice\, and about 1 ½ hours of live-fire range time. The class is nominally four hours in length\, but sometimes runs a bit longer\, based on student questions. \nStudents will fire about 60 rounds of ammunition: 45 rounds of birdshot\, 10 buckshot\, and 5 slugs. \nCourse Goal: “To allow the student to understand the operation and appropriate use of the defensive shotgun\, and to provide information and basics that will allow the student to practice and improve those skills.” \nLessons \n\nBasic Shotgun\, Home and Range Safety\nShotgun Operating Systems.\nLoading\, Unloading\, or Changing Loads in a Shotgun\nProper Mounting and Technique for Shotgun Use\nLive Fire Range Exercises\nEquipment and Ammunition\nReview and Questions\n\nPrerequisites: None \nCourse Completion: Students will receive an Indy Arms Company certificate of attendance upon completion of the course. \nCost: $99.00 \nIncluded: \n\nPersonal Protection Equipment: Eye and Ear Rental\nTargets\n\nCustomer Responsibility/Gear: \n\nComplete Liability Waiver prior to the start of class – Click Here\nArrive at least 15 minutes prior to class for check in\nPump or Semi-Automatic Shotgun\n60 rounds of ammunition: 45 rounds of birdshot\, 10 buckshot\, and 5 slugs\n\nNOTES: \n\nIf you need a shotgun please contact the range to secure the usage of a shotgun for class; rental shotguns must use ammunition purchased from Indy Arms\nStudents may purchase ammo from Indy Arms or bring their own ammunition for use in a class as long as it adheres to Indy Arms’ ammunition policies.\nStudents under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult (ask about a youth discount for training classes)\nStudents arriving more than 10 minutes after the designated start time may not be allowed into class and will need to reschedule\n\n***Please come in 15- 20 min early to complete the necessary check in process before any training class. SUMMARY:Tactical Rifle 1
DESCRIPTION:Tactical Rifle 1 is an informational and hands-on class in the use of the modern semi-automatic rifle as a home defense weapon and extends the training provided in Indy Arms’ Basic Defensive Rifle course. Tactical Rifle 1 moves beyond basic accuracy and safety to include use of force for home defense\, shooting from cover\, multiple target engagement\, and shooting and moving. The class is based on the most common self-defense rifles\, of which the AR15 platform is the overwhelmingly dominant example. The Ruger Mini-14 (based on the Garand platform) and the AK family of rifles (commonly but incorrectly referred to as the AK47) are also suitable for the class (if you are bringing a rifle other than an AR15 platform\, please inform Indy Arms when you register for the class). \nTactical Rifle 1 includes lecture\, dry fire and live-fire sessions and can be shot with both iron sights and with optics if those are available. This course will consist of about 2 hours of classroom material and practice\, and about 2 hours of live-fire range time. The class is nominally four hours in length\, but sometimes runs a bit longer\, based on student questions. \nStudents will shoot 200 rounds of ammunition. \nCourse Goal\n“To begin the structured development of the fundamental skills required to comfortably and effectively use a semi-auto rifle for home/personal defense\, and to provide the student with techniques and exercises to develop and refine these skills.” \nLessons \n\nBasic Rifle\, Home\, and Range Safety\nCommon Malfunctions\nSpeed loading\nMultiple shots and multiple targets\nMoving and scanning\nUse of cover\nReview and Questions\n\nPrerequisites: Students taking Tactical Rifle 1 should have an understanding of simple marksmanship\, and the basic operation of their rifle. Individuals taking this class should have the personal rifle that they intend to use for home/personal defense. Indy Arms Basic Defensive Rifle is an acceptable prerequisite\, as are most classes from recognized shooting schools. Experienced shooters who have not taken any formal classes should contact Indy Arms to make arrangements to drop by for a brief skills checkout. If you have any questions\, please contact Indy Arms staff. \nCourse Completion: Students will receive an Indy Arms Company certificate of attendance upon completion of the course. \nCost: $99.00 \nIncluded: \n\nPersonal Protection Equipment: Eye and Ear Rental\nTargets\n\nCustomer Responsibility/Gear: \n\nComplete Liability Waiver prior to the start of class – Click Here\nArrive at least 15 minutes prior to class for check in\nRifle\n\nAR-15 Platform chambered in .223\, 5.56\, 22LR\, or pistol calibers\nMini-14 chambered in .223 or 7.62\nAKS Platform chambered in 7.62\n\n\n200 Rounds of ammunition\, 2 magazines\, and functioning iron sights\n\nNOTES: \n\nThis class is specifically designed for the AR-15 platform. Other rifles are allowed; however\, the student must understand that certain lessons and drills may need to be modified or skipped if using a different rifle. We strongly suggest the used of an AR-15 platform for this class.\nStudents may purchase ammo from Indy Arms or bring their own ammunition for use in a class as long as it adheres to Indy Arms’ ammunition policies.\nStudents under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult (ask about a youth discount for training classes)\nStudents arriving more than 10 minutes after the designated start time may not be allowed into class and will need to reschedule\n\n***Please come in 15- 20 min early to complete the necessary check in process before any training class. SUMMARY:USCCA Concealed Carry
DESCRIPTION:USCCA Concealed Carry\n\nThe USCCA Concealed Carry class is a defensive handgun course for those who carry\, or are considering carrying\, a handgun for self-defense. \nThe United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) is one of the preeminent training organizations in the country providing Concealed Carry Handgun and Home Defense classes\, and a broad range of superb training publications\, videos\, and on-line programs.  The USCCA also provides a range of excellent self-defense firearm legal insurance programs.  Indy Arms is proud to currently have five USCCA-certified firearms instructors (and three USCCA Training Counselors) on our training staff (and all of those instructors are also certified by other major training organizations\, including the National Rifle Association\, Tactical Training Associates\, and the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy). \nUSCCA Concealed Carry is an informational and hands-on class in the carrying and use of a handgun in self-defense.  Jeff Cooper\, the legendary founder of Gunsite Academy\, is credited with saying\, “Owning a handgun doesn’t make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician.”  This class is meant to address that issue by providing some of the basic knowledge and skills that will contribute to your being effectively armed. \nThe class covers firearms handling safety\, range safety\, and personal safety.  We summarize the legal\, psychological\, and law-enforcement response issues involved in using a firearm for self-defense.  (And for those wanting more information\, these topics are covered in extreme detail in a separate Indy Arms classroom course\, Fundamentals of Armed Self-Defense.)  We practice basic handling\, operation\, and shooting skills with training guns\, “dry” in the classroom.  And the course concludes with live-fire session on the range allowing students to train with their own defensive handgun (rentals available) through a series of defensive drills. \nThis course will consist of about 4.5 hours of classroom material and practice\, and about 1.5 hours of live-fire range time but sometimes runs a bit longer\, based on student questions. \nThe class will include the use of a rental gun at no additional cost.  Students should bring 125 rounds of practice ammo for their gun of choice. \nCourse Goal \n“To allow the student to experience first-hand some of the skills and challenges inherent in the use of a firearm in self-defense\, and to provide information and basics that will allow the student to practice and improve those skills.” \nLessons \n\nDeveloping a Personal Protection Plan\nSelf-Defense Firearms Basics\nDefensive Shooting Fundamentals\nThe Legal Use of Force\nViolent Encounters and Their Aftermath\nGear and Gadgets\nSuggestions for Practicing Basic and Advanced Skills\n\nPrerequisites: None. However; if you are new to firearms you are strongly encouraged to take our Introduction to Handgun prior to this class \nCourse Completion: Students will receive a USCCA/Indy Arms Company certificate of attendance upon completion of the course. \nIf this class is a prerequisite for additional classes and the instructor has concerns regarding a student’s skills\, the instructor\, at their sole discretion\, can note that the student needs to retake the class or seek private instruction before continuing on to more advanced classes. \nCost: $149.00 \nIncluded: \n\nRental Handgun if needed (Students are encouraged to bring their own handgun)\nPersonal Protection Equipment: Eye and Ear Rental\nA copy of the USCCA’s book Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals \nTargets\n\nCustomer Responsibility/Gear: \n\nComplete Liability Waiver prior to the start of class –  Click Here\n125 Rounds of ammunition and 2 magazines\nArrive at least 15 minutes prior to class for check in\nHandgun\n\nNOTES: \n\nRental handguns must use ammunition purchased from Indy Arms\nStudents under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult (ask about a youth discount for training classes)\nStudents arriving more than 10 minutes after the designated start time may not be allowed into class and will need to reschedule\n\n***Please arrive 15- 20 minutes early to complete the necessary check in process before any training class.
